Study of Acts


In finishing up the book of Acts, Erika wanted to share what happened to Paul, Luke and the apostles.  This part of their stories is not found in Scripture but extra-Biblical sources, so we readily acknowledge there may be other ideas out and differences in opinions.

In this episode, we are finally coming to the end of the book of Acts.  Paul has finally arrived in Rome.  Erika fleshes out what life would have been like for Paul.

In this episode, Erika and Veronica dig into the trial Paul goes through in Acts 27. They talk about Paul’s shipwreck. Erika makes this story come alive and helps us feel like we are on the boat.

In this episode, Erika starts with the storyline that we ended with in Acts 11 – a famine and Paul’s need to talk to “the Pillars” in Jerusalem.  We are following the theme that the kingdom of God is expanding and how that affects the Jews in Acts 13. Erika is using First Fruits of Zion resources.

In this episode, they discuss the effects of the kingdom growing to include the Gentiles, aka heathens according to Brad Young’s book “The Newer Testament.” Surprisingly though it’s not Paul who leads the way and opens the door for the Gentiles.  Peter, one of the pillars of the early church, must be the one who brings the Gentiles in.  For the rest of Acts and most of the New Testament, we will read the of the struggle of how Jews and Gentiles are to live in the kingdom.

In this episode, they dig into Paul’s famous experience on the road to Damascus.  Veronica refers to Brad Young’s newest book called “The Newer Testament.” 

In this episode, they discuss how the message of the kingdom starts to expand beyond the Jews and goes to the Samaritans. 

Veronica and Erika spend most of this episode discussing the apostle Paul.  They use Paul’s words from Acts and his letters to describe his lifestyle.  They investigate why Paul might have thought persecution was a good solution and how he could validate his actions.   

Veronica and Erika continue their study on the book of Acts.  Their goal is to add to your understanding to the book of Acts.  By bringing out the connections between Exodus and Acts, they show how the Bible has a unified theme that runs throughout the pages.  Exodus introduced the reader to the kingdom of God.   Acts shows His kingdom is growing and expanding.  In this episode, they discuss how the message of the kingdom has a negative and positive impact.

Veronica and Erika continue their study on the book of Acts.  Their goal is to add to your understanding on the book of Acts.  By bringing out the connections between Exodus and Acts, they show how the Bible has a unified theme that runs throughout the pages.  Exodus introduced the reader to the kingdom of God.   Acts shows His kingdom is growing and expanding.  In this episode, Erika talks about the Amidah and the negative interactions between the apostles and the Sadducees.

Veronica and Erika continue their study on the book of Acts.  Their goal is to add to your understanding on the book of Acts.  By bringing out the connections between Exodus and Acts, they show how the Bible has a unified theme that runs throughout the pages.  Exodus introduced the reader to the feast of Shavuot.   Acts shows how God used Shavuot to grow His kingdom.
